Jah Prayzah, Feli Nandi and MC Abisha are set to headline the 2022 Nyanga Arts Festival which is scheduled for October 27-29.
The festival will be progressing in the hills of Nyanga in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands, the celebrations will host music performances, environmental theatre, visual arts, a Gota/Nhanga workshop and music business.
The Nyanga Arts Festival is aimed at boosting Zimbabwean cultural and arts practices while promoting and showcasing Nyanga as a tourist destination of choice.
The festival will be staged at two venues, the Montclair Hotel and Casino - which is the official sponsor of the event and Chief Saunyama’s homestead.
Montclair Hotel General Manager Brian Nyakutombwa said he is excited about the on-going preparations and the responses from the market.
“We are very excited at the opportunity to be hosting the inaugural Nyanga Arts Festival over the weekend 28-29 October. It will be the first time the people of Nyanga will be witnessing such an event, and playing host to a lot of visitors from other parts of the country,” he said.
Nyanga Cultural Heritage tours, nature, birdwatching and trout fishing tours, a cultural and environmental display are among other activities to be expected to add the element of fun.
Nhimbe Trust Executive Director Josh Nyapimbi said preservation is at the core of the Nyanga Arts Festival and its rallying theme is Cultural Heritage Tourism and Climate Change.
