A Shurugwi man is on the run after brutally murdering his grandmother whom he accused of witchcraft.
Police said they are looking for information that will lead to the apprehension of Takudzwa Mugariri, 25, following the murder in which his grandmother, Easther Marozva, 94.
Marozva died at Marozva Village under Chief Banga, Shurugwi on February 3.
“The suspect had accused the victim of witchcraft before burning her clothes and assaulting her with a log. The victim was found with multiple wounds all over the body,” the police said in a statement.
They appealed to members of the public with any information to contact the nearest police station.
