Mozambican music trio, DJ Tarico, Preck and Nelson Tivane (better known in music circles as Yaba Buluku Boyz), have connected with one of Zimbabwe’s biggest musicians, Jah Prayzah, for their new track, “Wa Kula”.
The Yaba Buluku Boys say they believe in collaborations and are optimistic that “Wa Kula” will become another beloved African dance song.
Their latest single, “Wa Kula,” meaning “Growing Up” is currently available across all music platforms.
In the new release, Jah Prayzah enlivens DJ Tárico’s dramatic and epic log drum laden production.
All the while, Nelson Tivane and Preck add a layer of dynamism with vocal chants signifying their journey from the streets of Maputo to all-African superstars, using one of Mozambique’s common names, Zacarias as their template.
The Yaba Buluku Boyz further extend their reach in Africa as masterful collaborators through successfully connecting and uniting audiences across the continent.
Since their bold debut, there hasn’t been a shortage of collaborations to reinforce their love for pan-Africanism.
The fiery atmosphere of ‘Yaba Buluku Remix’ featuring two-time Grammy award winner Burna Boy and the message of unity of “Tell Somebody” Featuring Yemi Alade speak to this point.
Previously, the trio gave their insight on the backdrop of the scathing remarks by Ghanaian singer Shatta Wale which was targeted Nigerian artistes.
The Yaba Buluku Boyz have also breezed in to pitching tents on the Nigerian music landscape with their Amapiano-themed style of music.
Prior, they revealed that they headlined 2RS Fest with Focalistic from South Africa and also Phyno and Olamide featured them on their annual show which had A-list artistes performing live.
On their music collaboration with Burna Boy, they revealed that the Nigerian artiste supported them on the remix of their smash hit ‘Yaba Buluku’ which has given them global recognitions and awards for Best Song of the Year, Best Collaboration of the Year and top 100 Best songs of 2021 on Music.
