Man who allegedly stole cheese worth US$4.50 from OK Supermarket has been taken to court.
Prince Mapuranga, 33, appeared before magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with shoplifting.
The complainant in this case is Ephraim David, representing OK Third Street Supermarket Branch.
Mapuranga will appear in court on March 20.
The State, through prosecutor Miriro Matapu, alleges that on March 14, 2023, at around 1700 hours, Ephraim David was on duty at Ok located along 3rd Street when Mapuranga entered the shop and stole 1x cheese, and fed himself and left the shop without paying.
The complainant rewinded the CCTV camera and it revealed the Mapuranga stealing the cheese and eating it all before leaving the shop.
The complainant launched a manhunt for the accused and managed to locate and apprehend him just outside the shop and escorted him to Harare Central Police Station for further management.
The value of the cheese was US$4.50.
