A prophet, who allegedly lured a 14-year-old complainant to his house after giving her a “prophecy”, has been taken to court facing rape allegations.
Nickson Marufu, 23, of Hatcliffe Extension, appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with rape.
He was remanded in custody.
The State alleges that on September 2023, in Hatcliffe, Marufu gave a prophecy to the 14-year-old complainant that she needed to bring groceries for a healing session and was told come to his house.
It is alleged that the complainant went to collect the groceries and went to Marufu’s house.
The State alleges that he told her to go into his bedroom to pack his clothes.
The court heard that it was during this moment that Marufu entered the room, locked the door and raped the complainant.
