Three people who were arrested in connection with theft of a motor vehicle have been taken to court.
Shown Maponga, 18, Tanyaradzwa Chirate, 17, of Hopley and Philip Masakadza, 16, of Zvimba, appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
They were ordered to appear in court on May 27.
The State alleges that on April 21, at around 1900 hours, the complainant, Knowledge Makoroma, parked his Honda Fit at Hardy Shops, Hopley Zone 6 and locked his car by locking his windows and doors and rushed into his shop.
He returned after 10 minutes and discovered that his car had had been stolen.
Makoroma asked for help from a local patron to make a follow-up on the car but it was all in vain.
It is alleged that that is when he went to make a police report, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
As a result, value worth US$4 000 was stolen
