A Harare jobseeker who stole a firearm and Lenovo laptop from a prospective employer in Chadcombe in the capital has been arrested while trying to sell the stolen firearm.
27-year-old Romeo Muzira had reportedly gone to Chadcombe looking for work as a gardener, prosecutor Thomas Chanakira told the court.
Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi remanded Muzira to today for bail application.
The court heard that after Muzira was told that the complainant had no job to offer, he returned later and gained entry to the house and stole a Special Astra 250 revolver with two rounds of ammunition.
Muzira also allegedly stole a Lenovo laptop, umbrella, wrist watch, US$15 and G-tel cellphone.
He also faces another charge of contravening the Firearms Act after he was arrested trying to sell the firearm.
