The Zimbabwe Republic Police have confirmed the death of six people after a haulage truck travelling along the Harare-Mukumbura Road failed to negotiate a curve, veered off the road and ran over some pedestrians before landing on its roof.
The accident happened in the evening of Friday, October 4, at the 36km peg along the highway.
The truck driver is said to have been carrying four passengers and was travelling northwards. Two of the four passengers and four pedestrians who were run over died on the spot while five other people including the driver were injured.
Names of the victims of the accident are being withheld until their next of kin have been informed.
