Two women say their search for employment ended in tears when they separately fell victim to a robbing rapist.
Willard Kudakwashe Jonifati of Domboshawa appeared in the Harare Magistrates’ Court facing two separate counts of sexual assault and robbery.
Public Prosecutor Anesu Chirenje alleged that Jonifati lured a young female jobseeker to Mverechena Business Centre. He told her to accompany him to the workplace where she was to meet her new employers.
He then held her at knife point, raped her and took her mobile phone.
Jonifati allegedly lured the second complainant to Molife turn off, raped her multiple times and stole US$20 from her.
Chirenje described the actions of Jonifati as brutal, and traumatic, successfully arguing against bail.
