President of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce, Tapiwa Karoro, urged private stakeholders to work with the government to increase the country’s GDP, regardless of political differences, so that everyone can grow the economy together.

"Politics aside, all stakeholders should move in a clear direction,” said Karoro in an interview by CGTN’s Farai Mwakutuya.

Karoro said China has achieved a remarkable feat by maintaining an impressive GDP growth rate over the years and overtaking developed world economies.

"China has been maintaining a GDP of at least 6% growth year and year for at least 10 years. It is the second largest in the world."

According to Karoro, the key to unlocking the country's economic potential lies in embracing technological advancements.

He emphasises the need for Zimbabwe to follow China and embrace technology to bolster its economy and compete on a global scale.
