Trio in court for possessing 6 000 litres of ethanol

Three men have been taken to court accused of possessing approximately 6 000 litres suspected to be ethanol.

Kudakwashe Tevera, 43, of Budiriro 5 Extension, director of Get Ahead Driving School, Rodrick Mureverwi, 43, of Waterfalls and Webster Chinyadza, 40, of  Glenview 3, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrate's Courts charged with possession of dangerous substances without a license.

The State, through prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, alleges that on August 20, 2024, at 16 Layland New Ardbernie, Harare, the detectives who were on an operation were informed that the accused hazardous substances.

They then entered into the yard and recovered plus or minus 6000 litres of suspected Ethanol, 17 by 200 litres of diesel and 200 litres of petrol.

The trio was arrested. They were granted US$200 bail and will appear in court for their routine remand on September 25, 2024.
