Defending champions Dynamos edged out Yadah FC in a thrilling penalty shootout to advance to the semifinals of the Chibuku Super Cup at Rufaro Stadium.

The match was a tense affair, with Yadah taking an early lead through Prosper Kafelapanjila in the second half. However, Dynamos' Valentine Kadonzvo leveled the scoreline late in the game, forcing a penalty shootout.

Substitute goalkeeper Tatenda Makoni emerged as the hero for Dynamos, saving Ariel Makopa's spot-kick. All of Dynamos' penalty takers converted their attempts, while Yadah had one miss.

Dynamos coach Lloyd Chigowe expressed his relief after the win, acknowledging the team's recent struggles at Rufaro Stadium. "It's not easy being Dynamos, but we have to try to become Cup Kings again," he said.

Yadah FC coach Thomas Ruzive bemoaned the absence of key players and admitted that his team lost concentration in the final minutes of the match.

With the victory, Dynamos join Ngezi Platinum Stars, Simba Bhora, and Manica Diamonds in the semifinals of the Chibuku Super Cup.
