The Zimbabwe Warriors have secured their place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Kenya at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday.
This qualification marks the fourth consecutive AFCON tournament for the Warriors, a testament to their consistent performance on the continental stage. They were only absent from the last edition due to a FIFA-imposed ban.
The match against Kenya was a thrilling encounter. Zimbabwe took the lead through Tawanda Maswanhise in the 32nd minute, but Michael Olunga equalized for Kenya in the 51st minute. The Warriors, buoyed by the passionate support of their fans, held on to the draw, securing the crucial point needed to qualify.
