The Golden Conifer in Harare witnessed a remarkable convergence of minds as Delta Corporation, The Boost Fellowship, and Zimbabwe’s university student community united to address the pressing issue of substance abuse. The Delta Smart Drinking and Moderation Innovation Challenge, themed "Above the Influence," was a beacon of hope, showcasing the power of collaboration to create a healthier and more responsible society.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Maunganidze, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Child Care, who commended the partnership between Delta Corporation and The Boost Fellowship. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in tackling societal challenges, particularly those related to substance abuse.
Delta Corporation, with a legacy of over 126 years, has consistently championed responsible alcohol consumption. Through this challenge, the company reiterated its commitment to creating a “Brighter, Better, Thriving” society. With a significant investment of USD 60,000, Delta aims to foster a culture of responsible drinking, emphasizing the importance of avoiding underage drinking, binge drinking, and encouraging designated drivers.
The Boost Fellowship played a pivotal role in empowering the next generation of leaders. By equipping students with essential entrepreneurial skills, the fellowship has inspired them to develop innovative solutions to address the challenges of substance abuse. The university students, brimming with creativity and passion, presented groundbreaking ideas that have the potential to make a significant impact on their communities.
