The Zimbabwe Republic Police have confirmed the arrest of a 37-year-old man, Trymore Tore, in connection with the brutal murders of three individuals in Mubairecheni Village, Chundu, Hurungwe. The victims were found dead on February 17, 2025.

According to police reports, the first victim was the suspect’s wife, 21-year-old Moline Chibayanzara. Her body was discovered in a pit latrine, wrapped in a blue blanket, with multiple injuries to her head.

The second victim was a 17-year-old girl, the suspect’s niece. Her body was found approximately 60 meters from the suspect’s homestead. Reports indicate she had a swollen head and a deep cut on her forehead. Authorities also found her body covered with tree branches, with a knife recovered beside it.

The third victim, identified as Kuwesu Musawu, 53, the village head, was discovered in a shallow grave behind the suspect’s house. His body was found decapitated, with a deep cut on the neck.

Preliminary police investigations suggest that the murders may have stemmed from ongoing domestic disputes between the suspect and his wife. Neighbors reported hearing the couple in heated arguments on February 15, 2025. Musawu, the village head, was last seen visiting the suspect’s homestead to mediate their disputes. Meanwhile, the second victim was reportedly at the suspect’s home on February 16, 2025, to watch movies before she was killed.

Authorities are continuing their investigations as the suspect remains in custody. More details are expected to emerge as law enforcement gathers further evidence in the case.
