Week 7 of the Zimbabwe Women Premier Soccer League brought a wave of goals, drama, and statement performances as fixtures played across the country on 23 and 24 May 2025 delivered both surprises and affirmations of dominance.

Chief among them was the emphatic victory by Black Rhinos, who dispatched fellow uniformed side Black Mambas 6–0 in a one-sided clash at The Heart Stadium.

The army-backed Rhinos were ruthless in both halves, executing a well-structured game plan against the police-supported Mambas. With clinical finishing and unrelenting pressure, Black Rhinos secured a result that not only boosts their title credentials but also highlights their growing form this season.

Defending champions Herentals Queens also made their presence felt with a comfortable 4–0 win over Highlanders at Gwanzura Stadium. The reigning title holders looked composed and focused as they maintained their momentum in pursuit of back-to-back championships. One excited fan, Tatenda Sauti, expressed her confidence after the match, saying, “Let’s go Herere Herere! The league is ours again this season.”

Over at Wadzanai Stadium, Sheasham—popularly known as the “construction girls” or *mabhiridhakadzi*—delivered a powerful 5–0 performance against Conduit Soccer Academy. Their intensity and structure reflected a team determined to stay in the top bracket of the league.

Faith Drive produced the most resounding win of the weekend with a 9–1 demolition of Red Buffalo at Manyame Airbase. The scoreline sparked concern among supporters, with Edzai Chinyani commenting, “Red Buffalo is just dishing out some points and scores—they need to improve.”

Other closely contested matches included Kwekwe United’s narrow 1–0 win over Harare City, Correctional Queens’ 2–1 triumph against Chapungu Queens at Mbizo Stadium, and Platinum Royals’ 2–1 away win over Cranborne Royals at The Heart Stadium.

Meanwhile, Maningi Youth Soccer Academy and Mpopoma Sports Academy played out the only draw of the round, a goalless stalemate at Chisamba Stadium that nonetheless reflected determination and tactical discipline from both sides.

There is clear evidence of growth in Zimbabwean women’s football, with increased competition, improved technical play, and the emergence of new talent across the league. The quality and intensity seen in Week 7 point to a brighter future for the women’s game, with more clubs now capable of mounting serious challenges.
