N’ombeyaora Coach Yabo Fined US$5k, Handed Two-Match Ban

Nesbert Saruchera

Ambitious Northern Region Division One side N’ombeyaora’s coach, Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera, has been fined US$5,000 and handed a two-match touchline ban following unruly behaviour during his team’s 1–0 defeat to title rivals Agama on Saturday at Ellis Robins.

Saruchera stormed onto the field twice—first to protest a goal awarded to Agama and later to confront match officials at the final whistle.

The Northern Region Soccer League cited his poor disciplinary record, noting that he was fined US$3,500 last year for similar offences while still coaching Black Rhinos.

In a statement, the league expressed disappointment at the coach’s repeated misconduct, saying last year’s fines should have encouraged him to adhere to the league’s code of conduct.

The NRSL ruled that Saruchera will serve a two-match touchline ban with immediate effect, covering Match Weeks 29 and 30.

The fine must be paid in full by September 26, 2025, and Saruchera will remain suspended until payment is made.
