Mashonaland Central Province police arrested a man only identified as Sande who reportedly sprayed pepper on Prosper Ruswa of Mazowe before robbing him.
His two accomplices are still at large.
Ruswa, police say, was robbed by three men after boarding a Toyota vehicle which was being driven by Sande.
One of the suspects sprayed pepper on Ruswa using a pepper spray and he became weak.
Sande stopped the car and dragged the Ruswa outside the car where they took turns to assault him before robbing him of US$12 and two cell phones.
They left Ruswa unconscious and he only went home after regaining consciousness.
He filed a police report two days later, leading to Ruswa’s arrest.
