A wife, troubled about her husband’s inquisitiveness about her promiscuity, has sought the intervention of the civil courts.

Said Chigumba took the husband, Denford Mangere, to court accusing him of disturbing her peace whenever he is around her. She blamed him for calling her names without considering the environment the two will be.

"He assaults me and chases me out of the house and goes on to insult me using obscene language even in front of the kids," she said.

Mangere invalidated the claims that were made by his wife and accused her of infidelity.

He told the court that all her sentiments were as a result of her dishonesty in their relationship and as such she thought coming to court would help her from the situation. He told the court he had once caught Chigumba in a position of intimacy with a boyfriend.

"She refuses reconciliation. My parents know the challenges we are facing, and so do hers, but she refuses to be reprimanded,” he said.

Mangere also severely invalidated the claims by his wife that he was threatening her with death. He said Chigumba was telling their children bad things about him which were not true.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi dismissed the application for a peace order by Chigumba
