A 72-year-old woman has been accused of forging her late husband’s will to sell a 6,000-square-meter family property valued at US$120,000.
Auxillia Muguto appeared before magistrate Francis Mapfumo facing fraud charges.
According to the prosecution, led by Heather Muokoto, the late Kirisimusi Timothy Muguto had subdivided the property among his three children — Tafadzwa, Stanlous, and Kudzanai Muguto — in 2013.

However, following his death in 2017, a purported will emerged, allegedly differing from the original document lodged with the Master of the High Court.
The complainant, Tafadzwa Muguto, later received an eviction notice from Realtor Ville Real Estate, which had purchased the property from Auxillia.
Investigations revealed that Auxillia had submitted a forged will, enabling her to sell the land. Forensic analysis reportedly confirmed inconsistencies in the signature attributed to the deceased.
The court heard that Auxillia’s alleged actions caused Tafadzwa financial prejudice amounting to US$120,000, with no recovery of the property.
The case has been postponed to November 4 for trial commencement.
