ZHHA Marks 15 Years with Cultural Estate Theme

 

The Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards (ZHHA) will celebrate their 15th edition on December 12, 2025 , at Zimbali Garden in Greendale, Harare, under the theme “Cultural Estate.”

 

Powered by Liquor Supplies this year’s event will recognise outstanding contributions to Zimbabwe’s growing hip hop industry, which continues to thrive despite economic challenges.

 

Founded in 2010, the ZHHA are the first and longest-running hip hop awards show in Africa. The platform promotes creativity and celebrates young artists who are shaping Zimbabwe’s music and culture.

 

ZHHA founder Aldrian “Beefy” Harrison said the 2025 theme reflects the essence of hip hop as a symbol of identity and heritage in Zimbabwe.

“Cultural Estate represents a home for everything hip hop stands for in Zimbabwe — creativity, identity, and legacy,” said Harrison.

 

This year’s ceremony will honour Desmond “Stunner” Chideme with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his role in developing Zimbabwean hip hop.

The late Babongile Sikhonjwa , a broadcaster and cultural commentator, will also be remembered for his contribution to the arts and youth empowerment.

 

ZHHA will also launch a national anti-drug abuse campaign that will run throughout 2026 using hip hop to raise awareness among young people about the dangers of drug and substance abuse.

 

L“Hip hop remains one of the most powerful platforms for youth engagement. This campaign will encourage responsible behaviour while promoting creativity and self-expression,” Harrison said.

The event will feature live performances and awards in categories such as Best Male Artist, Best Female Artist, Song of the Year, Producer of the Year and Video of the Year.

Over the years, the ZHHA have grown into a respected platform that continues to support local artists and promote Zimbabwe’s urban music culture.
