
The Premier Soccer League has unveiled the fixtures for the 2026 season, setting up a thrilling start to the campaign with a Bulawayo derby on Match Day One as newly promoted Bulawayo Chiefs lock horns with city rivals Highlanders “Bosso” in March.

Both Bulawayo Chiefs and Highlanders are yet to announce the coaches who will lead their teams during the 2026 season, adding further intrigue ahead of the high-profile opening fixture.
Bulawayo Chiefs’ return to the Premier Soccer League follows a remarkable turnaround after recent struggles. The club enjoyed success in 2022 when they lifted the Chibuku Super Cup under head coach Thulani Sibanda, a historic achievement that remains a highlight in the club’s history. However, Chiefs were relegated from the top league at the end of the 2024 season alongside Hwange, Arenel and Chegutu Pirates.
Following relegation, Bulawayo Chiefs regrouped and rebuilt, competing in the Southern Region Soccer League where they produced an impressive campaign under head coach John Nyikadzino. Their consistency and determination paid off as they clinched the league title, earning promotion back to the Premier Soccer League for the 2026 season.
