The Meteorological Services Department has said it is monitoring moderate tropical storm Cheneso, which made landfall in Madagascar yesterday and caused heavy rains in the island country.
The tropical storm was about 1 800km away from Zimbabwe’s eastern border.
“The Meteorological Services Department is currently monitoring and it will update the public on its movement.
“Depending on their position, tropical storms may cause dry spells or heavy rains or have no effect in Zimbabwe,” said MSD in a statement.
