
A violent altercation between two touts at Machipisa Rank ended in a stabbing incident that left one man with a deep neck injury.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 24, 2026, at around 5pm at the busy transport rank in Harare.
Tapiwa Faiti (34), of 1712 Shewokunze, Highfield, appeared before magistrate Jesse Kufa facing an attempted murder charge.
The complainant, Ebenezer Mapfurire (34), a self-employed resident of 1496 Lusaka, Highfield, allegedly sustained a neck injury after being stabbed with a broken beer bottle during a scuffle with the accused.

According to court papers, the two men had a misunderstanding while touting for passengers at Machipisa rank, which escalated into violence.
Prosecutors allege that Faiti pushed Mapfurire to the ground, picked up a Hunters beer bottle, broke it, and stabbed him on the neck.
Mapfurire further reported that his driver’s licence and US$120 went missing during the incident.
A medical affidavit confirming the injuries was attached to the docket.
