A 40-year-old man from Chikangwe Village has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after he was caught attempting to unlawfully enter a house in Westview, Karoi.
Jepfey Chimuperu was convicted of unlawful entry by the Karoi Magistrates’ Court following the incident that occurred on April 15, 2026.

The court heard that Chimuperu went to a residential property in Westview and opened a closed dining room window in an apparent attempt to gain entry into the house.
A neighbour who witnessed the incident approached him, prompting Chimuperu to flee the scene after realising he had been spotted.
The neighbour pursued the offender and, with assistance from other residents in the area, managed to apprehend him before handing him over to police.
Chimuperu was subsequently arrested and brought before the court, where he was convicted and sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment for unlawful entry.
