Dynamos has suspended head coach Genesis Mangombe with immediate effect, pending investigations into a series of serious allegations ranging from misconduct and insubordination to match manipulation claims.
In a suspension letter addressed to Mangombe, the club said the decision followed “numerous complaints and allegations” raised by players and members of the executive committee, as well as an incident reportedly occurring on 18 June 2026 at Glamis Arena.
“The employer (Board of Directors) has resolved to suspend you from your duties as Head Coach of Dynamos FC effective immediately,” the letter stated.
Among the accusations outlined are claims that Mangombe allegedly pressured players to participate in traditional rituals described in the letter as “juju practices” before matches, as well as claims that some players who resisted were excluded from matchday selection. The club also alleges he withheld player kits for ritual purposes, including that of goalkeeper Idrissou Nfor Finiar, returning them only shortly before matches.
The suspension letter further raises concerns about alleged insubordination during a post training technical meeting, where Mangombe is said to have challenged executive committee members and expressed a desire to leave his position.

It also references accusations of possible match manipulation in several fixtures, including defeats against Scotland FC, Highlanders, Caps United, and a draw with Hunters. The club stated these are “serious allegations that go against all football rules of the game.”
Additionally, Mangombe is accused of repeatedly violating club and league procedures, including failure to submit post-match reports and disregarding instructions regarding team warm-up routines.
“The allegations especially in relation to match-fixing, game manipulation and use of juju brings the name of Dynamos FC and sport of football into disrepute,” the letter added.
During the suspension period, Mangombe will be barred from attending training sessions, matches, and all official club activities while investigations continue.
