A Lupane herdsman who repeatedly raped his employer’s 13 year old daughter told her to point fingers at her stepfather if it was discovered that she was now sexually active.
The State says that the rape occurred between December 2022 and last week.
The 13 year old girl was left in the custody of the herdsman when he parents travelled during the festive season.
It was then that he raped the minor repeatedly and told her to blame the stepfather if the matter came up.
On February 19, after being informed by a concerned party on the matter, the complainant’s mother questioned her daughter.
The minor then told her mother about the repeated rape and the instruction to blame her stepfather.
A police report was made and the complainant was referred to St Luke’s Hospital for medical examination
The accused was not asked to plead to rape charges when he appeared before Lupane magistrate Ms Barbara Phiri this Tuesday who remanded him in custody to 14 March.
