A fight that escalated from being verbal to physical, leading husband and wife picking up knives to stab each other has left the wife dead and the husband in a critical condition at hospital.
Ernest Musanza, 32, of Old Mabvuku appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Courts charged with murder.
The State, alleges that on March, 31, 2023, at around 0200 hours, he and the now deceased Melody Musikanzwi, 30, were at number 3148 Old Tafara and they had a misunderstanding.
Musanza and Musikanzwi started fighting resulting in Musanza grabbing an Okapi and kitchen knives to stab Musikanzwi on both thighs, nose, neck, both arms, breasts, cheeks and left ear.
A report was made and ZRP Mabvuku and C.I.D attended the scene of crime.
Musikanzwi was found in a pool of blood in her spare bedroom and was taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital for a post mortem.
On the other hand Musanza was found on the bed lying unconsciously. It was noted that he had also been stabbed with a knife on his chest.
He was subsequently arrested and taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital for treatment and he is currently in a serious condition.
Magistrate Dennis Mangosi, who presided over the matter, ordered Musanza back to court on April, 12.
