LPG price goes down

The price of liquefied petroleum gas has gone down in US$ terms but remained largely unchanged in local currency following the latest monthly review by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority.

LP gas now costs US$1.72 per kilogramme, down from US$2.02 and $1 912.22 from $1 911.28.

Zera last reviewed the price in April with the new prices taking effect at the beginning of this month.

“Stakeholders are advised that the LPG prices for May 2023 calculated according to the Petroleum (Liquified Petroleum Gas Pricing) Regulation 90 of 2021 are a s follows: US$1.72 and $1 912.22 per kg. Operators are advised to display the prices at their retail outlets at a prominent place in clearly legible letters,” said Zera in a notice to the public this morning.

Zera added that it is permissible to sell LP gas at prices below those prescribed, depending on one’s trading advantages.
