Police are hunting for six armed robbery suspects who struck a Delta Beverages depot facility in Chipinge on Monday before stealing cash amounting to US$20 965 and R18 750, after attacking security guards, a truck driver and a cashier.
Police confirmed the incident in a statement saying:
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a case of robbery, which occurred at Delta Beverages Depot, Chipinge on May 22, 2023,” reads part of the statement from police.
“Six unknown suspects armed with unidentified pistols attacked security guards, a truck driver and a cashier before stealing US$20 965 and 18 750 rand cash.”
Armed robberies have been spiking over the last couple of months with the criminals targeting service stations, money transfer agencies among other businesses.
