Man sodomises nephew

An East View man, Clayton Matarutse, who sodomised his nephew, has been arraigned to court facing aggravated indecent assault.

Matarutse, 19, of East View, Phase 4, appeared before magistrate Standford Mambanje at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of aggravated indecent assault.

Matarutse is the nephew of the four-year-old complainant.

The State, through prosecutor Tawanda Nyandoro, alleges that, on May 8, 2023 at around 1300 hours, Matarutse lifted the complainant from where he was playing.

He took him into a room belonging to one, Mai Chitimbe and removed complainant’s trousers and laid him on a bed.

He lied on top of him and had anal sex with him without his consent.

The matter came to light when the complainant’s guardian found that complainant was suffering from stomach pain, diarrhoea and his tummy was swollen.

She asked the complainant who then narrated to her how, where and when he was sexually abused by Matarutse.

Maturutse was arrested by police on May 24, 2023.

Mambanje remanded Matarutse to June 13 and advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.
