Man remanded in custody for cocaine possession

A man from Queensdale, Chirimuuta Charlton, 40, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of unlawful possession of drugs.

The State alleges that detectives were informed that there was a person who was illegally selling drugs at his house.

They visited Chirimuuta, told him the purpose of their visit and conducted a house search.

Charlton was found with of one sachet which had whitish granules suspected to be cocaine.

They also found a digital scale and a silver metal spoon that were used to mix the cocaine.

Charlton was arrested and the suspected elements were taken to CID Drugs, Harare and they tested positive to cocaine.

It weighed at around 1 gramme with estimated street value of ZWL$1 000 000.
