Three people, who allegedly participated in killing a bouncer after hitting and stabbing him with a broken beer bottle on the neck, have been denied bail.

Tinotenda Chivizhe, 27, of Madokero, Terrence Mugocha, 21, of Arcadia and Proud Kaguda, 21, of University of Zimbabwe squatter camp, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing murder allegations.

The State, through prosecutor Zebediah Bofu, alleges that on November 2, at around 0001 hours the three were travelling in a Toyota Duet and drove to a club in the city centre where Chivizhe had unprotected sexual intercourse with one Mitchel.

It is alleged that after that, there was a misunderstanding which emanated from the money that had been paid by Chivizhe for the session and alleged missing money.

Mitchel told her colleagues in the Avenues that her money had been stolen by Chivizhe.

Chivizhe, Mugocha and Kaguda, went and dropped Mitchel at the Avenues and went back to town.

After their departure, Mitchel and other bouncers allegedly hired a Toyota Sienta and followed the three's car, intending to apprehend Chivizhe.

On approaching corner 6th and Livingstone Avenue, the accused stopped their car to relieve themselves and the Toyota Sienta stopped behind their car.

One of the alleged bouncers came out of the car and went to Chivizhe, Mugocha and Kaguda, who were intending to switch off the car but they took off at high speed with his head still in the car.

The bouncer allegedly attacked the accused trying to force them to stop the car and in the process managed to remove the key from the ignition but the car did not stop.

It is alleged that he was hit with an empty beer bottle on the head and was later stabbed by the broken beer bottle on the neck.

He fell down at the corner of 6th and Samora Machel road and died.

The three will appear in court on November 11.
