The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested former Harare City Council Finance Director, Stanley Ndemera on allegations of corruption involving a Borrowdale piece of land, which was valued at ZWL$91 691 130 in 2019.
ZACC confirmed the development in a statement.
Ndemera allegedly connived with former Harare City Council Valuer and Estates Manager, Emmanuel Mutambirwa in May 2019, to sell a piece of land in Borrowdale West valued ZWL$91 691 130 to Vitof Investments (Pvt) Ltd without seeking a Council resolution.
Mutambirwa was arrested last Saturday while Ndemera was said to be at large.
He was arrested today in the morning.
“This morning, ZACC arrested former Harare City Council Finance Director, Stanley Ndemera on allegations of criminal abuse of duty as public officer,” ZACC said.
“Ndemera was picked up from prison where he is serving sentence.
“The former HCC Finance Director allegedly connived with Emmanuel Mutambirwa, former Harare City Council Valuer and Estates Manager, who is already on remand over the same allegations, to sell a Borrowdale piece of land valued at ZWL$91 691 130 to Vitof Investments (Pvt) Ltd without Council resolution.”
