Michael Mashiri

A Harare man, who was nabbed for possessing dangerous drugs, has been denied bail.

Webster Mushure, 33, of Kuwadzana, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi, at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with unlawful possession of dangerous drugs.

The State, through prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, alleges that on November 13, 2023, at around 2100 hours, the police was informed that Mushure had dangerous drugs in Kuwadzana 1, Harare.

On the same date, they teamed up and went to the house where they saw Mushure seated in an unregistered car parked in front of the gate.

It is alleged that they went to the car, identified themselves to Mushure, who was seated in the driver’s seat.

A search was done in the car, leading to the recovery of empty plastic sachets and a digital scale.

A body search was also made on Mushure, leading to the recovery of three sachets of suspected methylenedioxymethamphetamine from his pocket.

He was subsequently arrested and escorted to CID Drugs and Narcotics Harare together with the seized methylenedioxymethamphetamine.

The drugs were weighed and recorded three grammes with a street value of ZWL$50 000.

He will appear in court on December 18, for bail application.
