One of the men who robbed and pushed the complainant out of the car has been taken to court.

Simbarashe Chivese, 23, appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei at the Harare Magistrates' Courts accused of robbery.

The State, through prosecutor Anesu Chirenje, alleges that on December 20, in Lusaka, Highfield, Harare, Chivese and other two accused, who are still at large, were in a car with the complainant, Shingirai Rosebut Kalonga, 29, when the driver allegedly pointed a pistol at Kalonga.

He stole her wallet which had US$2 000. Chivese is alleged to have pushed Kalonga out of the car and she clinched to the open truck, calling for help. Chivese then reportedly hit Kalonga with open hands, forcing her out of the car.

He was ordered to appear in court on January 11, 2024 for routine remand.

Ndirowei denied Chivese bail.
