Body of a man found in Highfield

The body of a man has been found in a water drain near Rusvingo Primary School in Canaan, Highfield.

There were mixed views over what might have led to his demise with others saying he used to walk with a crutch as he is one-legged.

Some were suggesting that he could have been drunk and drowned as a result of yesterday’s heavy rains.

The man is yet to be identified.

Police, who are yet to offer an official comment, attended the scene but unfortunately, they did not have a coffin.

It appears the man fell victim to the heavy rains that fell in Harare, including Highfield yesterday as the heavy downpour saw many houses flooded because of lack of proper drainage.

The local authorities of Harare and Chitungwiza have been blamed for neglecting drainage systems, which have also affected roads in several residential suburbs.
