One person died while 4 others were injured in an accident along the Harare-Chirundu road, police have confirmed.
In a statement on X, police said that the accident occurred at the 167-kilometre peg at around 1645 hrs, involving a Nissan NP300 vehicle.
“… in which one person died while four others were injured when a Nissan NP300 motor vehicle with five passengers on board veered off the road to the left and overturned once before landing on its roof,” police posted on X.
The injured victims were taken to Karoo District Hospital where the body was also taken for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, police have arrested Khulumani Sibanda, 36, for selling agricultural inputs believed to have been diverted from the Command Agriculture inputs.
Posting on X, police said the suspect had 27 x 50 kg bags of Urea fertiliser.
“The arrest of the suspect led to the recovery of 27 x50 kg bags of Urea fertiliser which is suspected to have been diverted from the Presidential Command Agricultural Inputs Programme,” police said.
