Radio presenter arrested in connection with shooting incident

Radio presenter DJ Edias “Mafight” Sibanda, 33, has been arresting connection with a shooting and kidnapping incident.

Police confirmed the arrest on X.

“This is in connection with the shooting incident and kidnapping case which occurred in Mutare on 18th February 2024. More details to be revealed during the pending court proceedings,” reads the statement.

Meanwhile, the police is looking for anyone with information that might lead to the arrest of nine people alleged to have participated in an armed robbery in Mubaira on February 20, 2024.

“ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of nine suspects implicated in a case of armed robbery which occurred at Rwizi Business Centre, Mubaira on 20/02/24 leading to a US$12 000 loss in properties.

“The suspects who were armed with a pistol allegedly assaulted a security guard before forcing open the shop doors and took an Ecco 48-inch television set, DStv decor, various groceries, a desktop computer and various farm chemicals, all valued at US$12 000,” they said.
