Renowned football agent, Ellen Chiwenga, has set her sights on the Zifa presidency, expressing her interest in running for the position on social media.
Chiwenga is confident in her potential victory, but the exact date of the Zifa elections remains uncertain.
The current normalisation committee, led by Lincoln Mutasa, is expected to oversee Zimbabwean football until the end of May.
Following their term, elections will be held to usher in new leadership for the Zimbabwe Football Association.
Chiwenga, a member of several prestigious football associations, is aiming to become the third African woman to lead a national football association, following in the footsteps of Lydia Nsekera of Burundi and Isha Johansen of Sierra Leone.
Chiwenga is not the only one with their eyes on the prize. Alois Bunjira has also declared his interest in the Zifa presidency, while Walter Magaya is reportedly considering a run as well.
Magaya is yet to officially announce his candidacy.
With the elections approaching, the race for the Zifa presidency is heating up. Chiwenga, Bunjira, and potentially Magaya, are all vying for the opportunity to lead Zimbabwean football into a new era.
