The Women Premier Soccer League season may be delayed, but clubs are viewing this as a positive opportunity to step up their game.

The league's decision to postpone the start has been met with support from participating clubs, who view it as a chance to refine their preparations for the upcoming season.

“We fully support the postponement,” said Correctional Queens Administrator Tapiwa Nyanzira.

“This is a chance to truly professionalise the game.  Clubs need time to comply with league requirements, which will ultimately lead to a smoother running season.”

Herentals Queens head coach, Simbarashe Dedza echoed this sentiment. “We’ve accepted the decision and are now focusing on the next stage of our preparations. We’re eager for the season to resume.”

The league's delay is a’med at achieving several goals. Fifa will have a window to register players, affiliation fees can be collected from clubs, and the league's constitution can be ratified. These measures are expected to strengthen the WPSL and ensure a successful season.
