Two men take turns to rape minor relative

Two men, who are uncles to the complainant and took turns to rape her, has been taken to court facing rape allegations.

Leon Tanaka Chari, 21, and Thomas Chari, 44, all of Glen Norah A, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with rape.

The complainant in this matter is 16-year-old juvenile.

The State alleges that on October 1, 2023, at around 0100 hours, the complainant was asleep in her room.

It is alleged that when she woke up, she found Leon on top of her having sex with her.

She reportedly told her aunt about the abuse, but she told her to keep quiet since the offence had been committed by her son.

The State also alleges that on October 12, 2023, at around 0000 hours, Thomas sneaked into the complainant’s room while she was asleep and raped her.

It is alleged that Thomas used to ask for a kiss from the complainant but she would refuse.

After the abuse, the complainant told her aunt, who told her not to tell anyone.

The matter was unearthed after the complainant told her pastor about the abuse and a report was made to the police, leading the duo’s arrest.

They will appear in court on May 16.
