A 19-year-old man from Epworth, who allegedly used to have sex with his biological sister, has been taken to court.
Nyasha Kame appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Courts charged with with rape and was remanded in custody.
The complainant in this matter is a 14-year-old girl.
The State alleges that in December 2023, the complainant was at home with the family and they went to bed around 2100 hours.
It is alleged that around midnight, Kame sneeked out of his room and went to the complainant's room.
He then entered into complainant's blankets and had sex with her several times without her consent.
It is alleged that after that day, the complainant would visit the complainant's room and have sex with her several times.
The matter came to light on June 4, 2024, when the mother of the two discovered that the complainant was pregnant and that is when the complainant disclosed she was being raped by her brother.
In defending himself, Kami said they had agreed to have sex.
"She consented to be honest. She is my biological sister," he said.
