One of the men, who were claiming to be MDC-T security personnel and allegedly participated in assaulting City Park officials has been taken to court.
Mhiripiri Josiah, 23, of Warren Park 1, appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with assault and malicious damage to property.
He was remanded in custody.
The State, through prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti, alleges that on March 18, the complainants led by a City Park manager, were informed that City Park marshals were being chased away by the accused persons, who were claiming to be MDC-T security at Morgan Richard Tsvangirai House.
The complainants were escorted by ZRP to resolve the issue in a peaceful manner since they were having a misunderstanding over parking space.
It is alleged that the police left the complainants doing their business after the matter appeared to have been settled.
Mhiripiri and his three accomplices approached the complainants, accusing them for engaging the police in their discussion of sharing spaces.
The court heard that the accused persons began to act angrily as they charged towards the complainants, who ran away when they saw that the situation had rapidly deteriorated.
The accused persons started throwing stones and empty bottles at the complainants and chased them to the two City Park cars stoning all windows and windscreens.
The complainants sustained injuries.
