FC Platinum secured another key signing to solidify their grip on the championship title. Just a week after acquiring Devine Mhindirira from Highlanders, the former league champions unveiled midfielder Polyester Shoko, bolstering their squad under coach Norman Mapeza.

Shoko joins FC Platinum from TelOne, adding depth and stability to a midfield already featuring stars like Brian Banda and Juan Mutudza. This signing marks Mapeza's second acquisition in the current transfer window, demonstrating the team's determination to withstand any challenge in the title race.

FC Platinum currently leads the standings by five points over their closest rivals, Ngezi Platinum Stars, with 16 matches remaining. Shoko brings experience from previous stints at Shabanie Mine and Midlands State University FC, adding another dimension to the midfield.

The team's recent form has been instrumental in their title bid. Mapeza's men have gone five matches unbeaten, collecting four wins and a draw. However, their momentum will face a stern test this Saturday when they host a resurgent Ngezi Platinum Stars in the highly anticipated "platinum derby" at Mandava Stadium.

Ngezi Platinum Stars are the in-form team at the moment, riding a seven-match winning streak. Their new striker, Obriel Chirinda, has been on fire, scoring in each of his last four appearances.
