The newly appointed Zimbabwe national football team coach, Michael Nees, has announced the squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The Warriors will face Kenya on September 6 and Cameroon four days later in Group J.
Nees, who was recently appointed by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), will be assisted by Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Takesure Chiragwi. The duo will be tasked with leading the Warriors to qualification for the continental tournament, which will be held in Morocco next year.
The Warriors will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing performance at the 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroon, where they failed to make it out of the group stage. However, with a new coach and a talented squad, the team will be hoping to make a strong impression in the qualifiers.
