Sonfree Vunganai, better known by his stage name Niceboi, is gearing up for the release of an exciting new track titled Naume, a collaboration with Botswana’s very own Slizer. Set to light up the festive season, this party anthem promises to be a highlight of the holidays. Known for his Afro Fusion style, Niceboi continues to elevate the genre with music that inspires, educates, and uplifts.
Niceboi’s journey into music began in 2019, after what he describes as a divine calling. "I received a call from God during a church service in Mvuma," he recalls, a moment that would steer him towards his true purpose. Since then, his passion for music has only grown, with each song and performance serving as a platform to spread positivity and hope.
One of the most memorable moments in Niceboi’s early career was his first live performance in front of a crowd of 500 in Masvingo. "I was invited to perform at a bar launch, and seeing the crowd dancing to my music was a life-changing experience. It marked the beginning of my journey," he says.
Niceboi’s music is heavily influenced by Leonard Zhakata, Oliver Mtukudzi, and Jah Prayzah, whom he credits not only for shaping his musical style but for offering invaluable career guidance.
“They taught me so much—both through their music and personal conversations. They gave me insight into what it takes to succeed in this industry.”
While the road to success has been rewarding, it has not been without its challenges. "The biggest hurdle I faced was the lack of funds for promotion and video production," Niceboi shares. Despite this, his resilience and drive have kept him moving forward. "I worked with what I had and remained determined to make my dreams a reality. I’m still striving for excellence."
Niceboi is excited for the upcoming festive season, with his new track Naume set to make waves on the music scene. In addition to Naume, he is also working on Munamato, a song of gratitude for God’s blessings throughout the year.
"It’s a song of appreciation, reflecting on how far we’ve come and the grace we've received," he explains.
Reflecting on his career, one of Niceboi’s most unforgettable experiences was a recent performance in Guruve.
"We filled the entire venue with fans from all over. The energy was incredible, and it felt like a real milestone in my career."
