The death toll from the tragic accident near Lutumba Tollgate along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Road has risen to 28.
This follows the passing of a woman who had been admitted to Parirenyatwa Hospital; she succumbed to her injuries on February 19, 2025.
Authorities have yet to identify two of the victims—a man and a woman—and are urging the public to assist in the identification process.
The police are calling on anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact them immediately.
The devastating accident occurred on the morning of February 14, 2025, when an Urban Connect coach collided head-on with a haulage truck. Initially, 25 people lost their lives in the crash, but the toll has since increased due to subsequent fatalities.
