Reigning Miss Africa Unite Zimbabwe, Tinevimbo Murerabvudzi, 22, is disappointed in the postponement of the continental competition but says she will bring the crown home anyway.
The pageant, scheduled to have taken place in Gaborone, Botswana, in November this year, was fast-forwarded to March 19, 2023, according to the organisers.
“I am disappointed with the postponement of the pageant because I had prepared thoroughly for it,” said Murerabvudzi, who was also looking forward to her debut international contest.
“My journey in modelling shows consistency, patience and perseverance. I have won and lost along the way, and I feel this is now my time to win. I am confident that should Miss Africa International eventually take off, I will bring the crown home with the help of my fellow Zimbabweans,” she added.
Miss Africa Unite International pageant is an annual contest that is set to unite all African countries, with each country showcasing their cultural heritage.
More than 15 countries, including South Africa, Lesotho, Zambia, Kenya and Cameroon were among the countries expected to participate in the event.
Murerabvudzi started her modelling career in 2019 and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Development Studies at Lupane State University where she was crowned Miss Orient Zimbabwe second princess in 2021.
