The Zimbabwe national cricket team has arrived in Nottingham ahead of their historic Test match against England, set to take place at the iconic Trent Bridge from May 22 to 25.
Touching down under overcast English skies, the team wasted no time getting down to business. Head Coach Justin Sammons led the squad through their first training session this morning, setting the tone for what promises to be a landmark occasion for Zimbabwean cricket.
Trent Bridge, a venue rich in cricketing tradition, will host what is expected to be a competitive clash. Speaking after the session, Coach Sammons, who took the reins earlier this year, was confident and assertive in his outlook.
“We’re here to compete. We’re here to earn respect. And we’re not taking a backward step,” he said.
The match marks a significant moment in Zimbabwe’s cricketing journey as they return to face England in a Test match for the first time in over two decades.
